Stag's Hollow Viognier Marsanne Kiln House Vineyard 2015

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAn impressive third vintage of this orange wine, the 2015 is a 54/46 blend of viognier/marsanne from Penticton's loamy, graveled Kiln House Vineyard. This shining orange hued wine greets you before it even reaches your nose with piercing orange oil - a guide into apricot fuzz, pear skin, Asian pear crispness. Bone dry, textural, and compelling, this had nothing added, nothing taken (so pay no mind to any sediment in the bottom of this unfined and unfiltered wine). Wild yeast fermented, this spent twelve weeks in contact with the skins before being drained and pressed into five-year-old acacia barrel, sleeping a winter, and then spontaneously undergoing MLF in the spring. After tasting the two previous vintages of this wine, we are confident that this tight, wound, salt-licked, no sulphur added wine made as naturally as possible will age gracefully.Tasted: 25 July 2017Tasted by: Treve Ring & Anthony GismondiPrices:
