Sperling Vin Gris of Pinot Noir 2015

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAs the name suggests, this is a white-ish wine from red grapes - in this case, a pale peach from pinot noir. Whole cluster press, wild ferment, full MLF and into puncheons for twelve months, this opens with earthy lees, wild herbs, rock salts before an alluring bed of wild strawberry, faint wildflowers and subtle cherry notes. River stones and salted herbs linger on the tingling finish, drawing you back for more (especially as the bottle opens up). Light on palate (12 percent), this is a memorable, intriguing white/red/rosé.Tasted: 18 July 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
