Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom organic estate vineyards overlooking the banks of the Similkameen River, this is a blend of cabernet franc and merlot, sun-ripened and amply extracted and macerated. There is a beautiful fragrant opening with choke cherry, raspberry, dark floral, thorns and prickly herbs and a surprisingly skinny, spicy, warm finish. The tannins are light but sanded and would easily evaporate into duck or rabbit dishes. A good start in a warm year.
