Bella Wines Westbank Gamay Rosé Brut 2016

West Kelowna, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis terroir-focused traditional method fizz is from organic, volcanic soiled Beaumont Vineyard in Westbank. Fifteen-year-old vines, this was destemmed for pressing, and fermented wild for primary. Deep watermelon hue, a departure from Bella's typical pale wines, but don't let that turn you off this dry and vibrant rosé brut. Juicy wild strawberry, cranberry, rhubarb and mandarin pith fill the palate with a rush of acidity on the palate and a snap of cranberry briskness on the finish. Still dry and pithy, but more accessible than some of the more severe bruts Bella does.Tasted: 10 July 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
