Beckham Estate Vineyard Sophia's Pinot Noir 2015
Chehalem Mountain , Willamette Valley, Oregon, United StatesNamed for their eldest daughter, this organic, dry-farmed pinot noir is solely own-rooted Dijon 115 from the Beckham's Jory soiled estate vineyard. Fermented wild, with 25 percent whole cluster, this spent 15 months in French oak, ten percent of which was new. A darker, deeper shade of pinot versus their estate pinot (which is a blend of four clones), this streams black raspberry, perfumed dark cherry and a lick of black liquorice along finely grippy, firm tannins and a with a stony spice woven throughout to a finely salty finish.
