Assertive black currant and spicy dark plum overtop of smoked green brambles on the nose. The full bodied palate shows the same - ample smoked cassis fruit, blackberry gummies, with potent tannins smoothed and stretched out along a base of black peppercorns. The palate is similarly style with smoky, meaty, sweet black fruit and a dash of acidity and leather. A commercial effort best with ribs or burgers. The syrah is mixed with 10 per cent cabernet sauvignon and aged 26 months in an assortment of European and American oak (22 percent new).
