Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California, United StatesThe 2012 chardonnay is a mix of Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, Russian River Valley and Carneros fruit divided into some 60 separate lots that are cold settled for 48 hours before they are barrel fermented. Almost all the wine goes through malolactic to add creaminess but it leaves it all a bit soft. Still fresh and tasty with a big ripe baked apple and pear component and a buttery, citrus, nutty finish.
