Champagne, FranceThis growers' grand cru rosé is a blend of 70/30 chardonnay/pinot noir, including 6 percent of Bouzy Rouge (still red wine from the village of Bouzy). It is based on the 2010 vintage, with some 2009 reserve blended for additional complexity. Light cherries and fresh summer raspberries overlay crisp green apple and Anjou pear in this bright orangey pink sparkler. Full in the mouth, with pink flowers, pink grapefruit, wild strawberries and salty, bright citrus acidity to the fresh finish. This would certainly stand up to your lighter pork or chicken entrée, though I'd like to fill a flute or few with my next sushi dinner.
