Krāzē Legz Skaha Vineyards Rogue 2012

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaRogue is amazing fortified wine made from 100 percent merlot, a single vintage 'Colheita-style' that pleases from front to back. After fortification it was aged one year in new oak and one year in a four-year old French Oak barrel. Production was limited to 384 500ml bottles. The residual sugar sits at 115g/L and the alcohol tops out at 19.6 percent. The colour is a correct orange/amber, the nose an intoxicating mix of cherries and butterscotch. The textures are silky smooth, with a bit of spice in the finish but no overbearing heat. Competent, tasty and well worth the money. Will keep for decades. The first edition makes a fine collectors gift.Tasted: 08 October 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
