Pedemonte Valpolicella, Verona, Veneto, ItalyStarts off quietly in the nose, with dried strawberry and green figs, before a full and focused palate of prune plums, twine, dried black cherry, dusty wood and an alluring floral lift. Downy, clay-dusted tannins are mitigated by juicy cassis acidity, and the heft of the wine balanced by finesse.
