Croft Pink Port NV

PortugalCroft was well ahead of the #roséallday craze with their Pink Port, though this pours such a deep pink that you’d almost be forgiven for thinking it was a lightly-coloured red wine. It's a blend of the traditional red Port grapes, and amazingly it does have some recognizable Port character. There's berry fruit, yes, but there's also nutty, oxidative notes reminiscent of a tawny port. Plus, this is still fortified and still sweet, with 100 g/L residual sugar and 19.5% abv. Although quite enjoyable on its own with a good chill, any one of the cocktails on Croft Pink's website are also tempting. The good news is this will keep in your fridge for a good while to try them; I don't recommend finishing a bottle in one sitting.Tasted: 18 June 2020Tasted by: Prices:
